Job Title: Machine Operator I -Assembly
Location: Madison, GA
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a Machine Operator I-Assembly who will be responsible for loading and following setup instructions for cutting machines and other tools. Fabricates various types of products and components, meeting defined production schedules. Performs basic operator preventative maintenance. Operate and/or use related machinery, equipment, and tools necessary to complete assembly/parts fabrication to specifications, which include forklifts, pallet jacks, saws, drills, tape measure, hand tools, etc.
What you'll be responsible for in this role:
  • Basic Mechanical Skills
  • Fabricate wood crates for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
  • Jobs require the use of hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools.
  • Set-up, and lay out work using fixtures and guides to fabricate parts and assemblies.
  • Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes.
  • Maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Review finished assemblies to ensure accuracy against drawings.
  • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
  • Diagnose process and quality issues, and make improvement recommendations to department supervisor.
  • Reports defective machines, parts and materials according to policy.
  • Ensure safe, careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Participate in and attend cross-functional meetings as required.
  • Participate in cross-training program---train and be trained.
  • Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.

What are the basic qualifications?
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 -2 years of production machine operator experience

What are the preferred qualifications?
  • 1 to 2 years of fabrication/machining preferred
