Job description

We have an immediate opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate and troubleshoot machinery used to produce high-quality food packaging products. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn specialized processes.

Pay & Schedule:

  • Pay based on experience + $0.75/hour night shift differential (if applicable)
  • 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:15 PM or 7:00 PM–7:15 AM)
  • Every other weekend off

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate thermoforming and extrusion equipment in accordance with plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols
  • Start, stop, monitor, and adjust machines to ensure efficient operation; troubleshoot basic issues and report malfunctions to a supervisor
  • Follow emergency procedures for power outages, equipment failures, and workplace incidents; report all safety concerns or injuries immediately
  • Read job specifications and maintain proper machine settings to support production efficiency, meet production goals, and minimize scrap
  • Feed materials, monitor machine speeds, and perform general production tasks including packing products as needed
  • Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications, GMP standards, and food safety requirements
  • Complete logs, reports, and required documentation accurately
  • Handle materials and operate equipment such as lift trucks (or willingness to learn)
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance tasks
  • Communicate operational, safety, and quality issues promptly and assist team members as needed
  • Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, including hazard identification and food safety programs

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts
