Job description

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A HOSPITAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm with weekends as needed (flexible schedule)

Your Work Matters How will you make a difference?

The Hospital Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision.  This position is also responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of the facility by performing minor painting and touch-up work throughout the hospital as needed. 

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred; two years of technical or trade school preferred.
  • Experience: Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Must experience in the area of building maintenance and basic mechanical engineering.  Experience with minor painting, touch-up work, and general facility upkeep is preferred.
  • Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Additional Requirements: Must have complete knowledge of physical plant within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks such as minor painting and touch-up work throughout the facility, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, and testing and inspections of the hospital. 
  • Performs minor painting, patching, and touch-up work on walls, doors, trim, common areas, patient care areas, and other facility spaces as needed to maintain a clean, well-maintained appearance.
  • Clean and change air filters, kitchen grease traps and stove hood filters.
  • Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the hospital.
  • Maintain hospital grounds in a neat and attractive appearance.
  • Maintain all light fixtures in good working condition and change light bulbs as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance electrical test as well as the removal, installation, and repair of all mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and safety/risk management plans policies and procedures.

Compensation:

This is a full time role and the expected compensation is $20.00 to $25.00 hourly.  We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Hospital Maintenance Technician.
