Guidewire PolicyCenter Engineer

ConglomerateIT LLC

Hartford, CT • On-site

Contractor

Re-posted 25 days ago

Job description

We're bringing on a senior Guidewire PolicyCenter engineer with deep, working command of Guidewire PolicyCenter and the Guidewire Cloud stack. This is a builder-leader seat — you stay hands-on in the code while steering a small offshore pod. You'll own solution design, development, and integration for modern Guidewire deployments across the full SDLC.

What You'll Own
  • Drive end-to-end design, build, and rollout of PolicyCenter solutions
  • Architect and ship scalable, cloud-native Guidewire integrations
  • Break business requirements down into detailed technical specs
  • Coach and direct dev teams, building collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Run technical evaluations and surface new tooling that lifts performance and user experience
  • Own stakeholder communication and weigh in on critical technical decisions
  • Hold delivery quality high across every SDLC phase
Must-Have Skills (priority)
  • Guidewire PolicyCenter — Expert / P4 level, 8+ years
  • Guidewire Integration — 5+ years
  • Guidewire Advanced Product Designer (APD) — 5+ years
  • Active Guidewire Certification
  • Proven Guidewire development and integration work — not support-only background
  • Direct work on the Guidewire codebase: building APIs and integrations firsthand
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and tuning of Apache Camel routes inside the Integration Gateway
Platform & Integration Depth
  • PolicyCenter configuration on current Guidewire Cloud releases — Niseko, Oulu, Las Lenas
  • Guidewire Cloud Integration Gateway (IG) and the App Events Framework
  • Strong Java + Apache Camel for custom integration builds
  • Event-driven architecture, REST APIs, and webhooks
  • Real APD work involving live code / entity generation — not just product modeling
  • Solid grasp of Guidewire Cloud-native architecture and integration patterns
Leadership & Experience Profile
  • Player-coach mindset: writing code while mentoring and leading
  • Minimum 2 years in a technical leadership role
  • 5–8 years overall experience (ideal range)
  • Strong communicator who can carry technical discussions solo
  • Local to, or open to relocating to, one of the listed sites
Certifications
  • Required: Full Guidewire certification — specialist-only credentials won't qualify
  • Strongly preferred: Guidewire ACE (PolicyCenter or Integration)
  • Guidewire Cloud Technical Certification
  • AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect
Nice to Have
  • Depth in technical architecture and design
  • Track record driving innovation and modernization initiatives
