Job Description:

IT Helpdesk Engineer

Job Disclosures:Location: (On-site) Los Angeles, CACompensation: The hourly rate for this position is $35.25/hr. Meow Wolf's hourly rate scales set the expected pay for this position as determined by position grade. Off-scale rates may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.Job Summary

Provides hands-on technical support for Meow Wolf's users and systems. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; maintains the helpdesk/ticketing system; configures and deploys devices; documents solutions; and partners with vendors to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day technical support; research and resolve user-reported issues.

  • Triage and work tickets in the helpdesk system; document actions and resolutions.

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain macOS/Windows laptops/desktops, printers, and peripherals.

  • Perform preventative maintenance; install service releases; maintain desktop applications.

  • Monitor network devices and LAN performance; escalate issues appropriately.

  • Implement virus protection, detection, and remediation.

  • Deliver basic training to end users on hardware/software use and best practices.

  • Coordinate with hardware/software vendors for escalated support.

  • Create and maintain documentation (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, licensing, configuration, connectivity).

  • Assist with AV setup for internal meetings and events.

  • Recommend support improvements to the IT team and complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional IT experience with at least Level 2 proficiency.

  • Proficiency with Windows and macOS desktop operating systems.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration.

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software testing and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with backup solutions, managed antivirus, copiers, SaaS apps, MDM, and technical documentation.

  • Experience with Ethernet cabling (pulling, terminating, managing).

  • Understanding of Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy).

  • Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and common network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • Helpdesk experience; CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications; basic understanding of the OSI model.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
