Unity Point Wellness & Counseling is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team in Plano, Texas. This position offers a fully remote work setting, providing flexibility and a work-life balance that accommodates the needs of our therapists and their clients. Your schedule will primarily consist of weekday hours, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., allowing you to dedicate your energy to providing exceptional mental health support while enjoying the comfort of your home.

• Conduct thorough evaluations to understand the intensity, frequency, and duration of each client's symptoms related to mood disorders.
• Collaborate with clients to create customized treatment plans that align with their unique goals and preferences, ensuring a person-centered approach.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to effectively address client needs.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster understanding and engagement in the recovery process.
• Continuously monitor and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure integrated care for clients, promoting holistic well-being.
• Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to continually enhance the therapeutic techniques used.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.
• Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to foster collaboration and growth.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs, working to reduce stigma and promote understanding within the community.

The ideal candidate will work primarily with individuals experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Additionally, the therapist will engage with vulnerable populations, such as the homeless, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse, providing compassionate and targeted support to assist them in their journeys toward healing and stability.

• A valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is necessary.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish trust and rapport with clients.
• A strong sense of empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients' experiences, reinforcing a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Highly developed organizational skills to manage a diverse caseload effectively.

While specific prior experience in working with mood disorders is beneficial, we also seek individuals who exhibit a genuine passion for helping others, a dedication to their professional development, and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience in group therapy settings will be considered an asset.
