General Description

Assist and support all areas of program ministry to children and families, birth through 5th grade.

Specifically work with staff, families, and volunteers to disciple the kindergarten through second grade participants.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties

· Prepare lessons and material needed for three Sunday School hours (Pre K through Second Grade)

· Coordinate teacher volunteers for Sunday morning

· Assist in planning and leading Teacher Training Workshops

· Plan and execute seasonal events for children and families, specifically those for elementary families

· Build community for families with elementary age children

· Recruit volunteer teachers for the school year, summer, and all special events throughout the year

· Attend and participate in quarterly Children’s Leadership Council meetings

· Help manage and provide content for Children’s Ministry social media

· Help create and implement strategic planning to fulfill yearly goals of the church and children’s ministries

Education and Experience

· College Degree, preferred or relevant work experience

· Program Management experience

· Curriculum Development experience

· Love of children

Competencies (knowledge/skills/abilities)

· Ability to multitask and plan for multiple activities at the same time

· Excellent communication/teamwork/interpersonal/ organizational skills

· Strong work ethic

· Ability to connect and effectively communicate with both parents and children

Position Structure and Level

· Children & Family Ministries Department

· Reports to Director of Children & Family Ministries

· Works with Director of Children & Family Ministries, Program Assistant, nursery staff, staffing agencies, parents, volunteers, children

· Works Sundays and church acknowledged religious holidays

· Hourly, nonexempt position

· 20-25 hours per week onsite
