Tier I technicians are typically the first point of contact and handle basic problems such as password resets, software installations, and simple troubleshooting. If they cannot resolve the issue, they escalate it to higher-level IT support. These roles require good communication skills and a basic understanding of computer systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Help Desk Tier I?

Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, and knowledge bases is commonly required. Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities help build rapport with users and efficiently resolve issues. These skills and qualities are crucial to ensure timely technical support and a positive experience for end-users.
