We are actively seeking experienced CNC Machinists for our second shift. This is a non-exempt full-time assignment, located in Torrance, CA, and reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

CNC Machinists use a variety of CNC lathes, mills, lasers, and waterjets used to cut metal for the manufacturing of helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

  • Set Up and Operate CNC Machines
  •  Read and Interpret Blueprints to understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to set up machines accurately and assess geometric tolerances.
  • Set up jobs by loading programs, selecting fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
  • Prepare and operate CNC machines, including; lathes, mills, grinders, waterjets and laser cutters to manufacture parts according to specifications.
  • Monitor Production and continuously monitor the machining process to ensure that parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform Maintenance by Conducting routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
  • Monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
  • Must maintain compliance with safety standards
  • Maintains a clean work space
  • Report on all production issues to the lead and manufacturing manager
  • Other duties as assigned

   These CNC Machinist positions are for our 2nd shift operation. They also receive an 8% shift premium (of their base pay)

EDUCATION AND JOB QUALIFICATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist or operator, with understanding/familiarity of CNC programming and operations preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in reading technical documents and blueprints, along with mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions to ensure high-quality output.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process.
  • Basic mathematical skills include, but are not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
  • Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.

Pay Range:  $25.00-$35.00/hour
