Flight Engineer Standardization Instructor

Program Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Flight Engineer Instructor to support the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) client's aviation training and operational requirements at Fort Hood. This role involves reviewing and aligning training strategies with the Commander's intent, developing doctrinally sound training materials, and providing direct aviation support for a wide range of training events and mission profiles. The ideal candidate will have experience in aviation operations, flight instruction, and training development. This position requires a deep understanding of U.S. Army aviation doctrine, aircraft systems, and mission planning tools. The Flight Engineer Instructor will also support pilot training, aerial gunnery, and aviation range operations, ensuring all activities meet safety and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

Review and interpret the customer's training assessment, strategy, guidance, and objectives to support training development.

Ensure all training materials align with current doctrine and governing policies.

Support varied aviation training events.

Assist the FMS client S3 and Standardization Section with training development and mission execution.

Provide CH-47F Flight Engineer support for maintenance test flight activities.

Conduct flight training in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.

Support individual pilot training, unit progression, collective training, and evaluations.

Provide mission support in tactics, readiness level progression, gunnery, aircraft delivery, and operational requirements.

Operate and instruct on systems including AMPS, CHAMPS, PFPS, ASE, and threat analysis tools.

Provide aerial gunnery planning, training, and range safety operations.

Deliver instrument training and evaluations.

Provide support for cargo and attack helicopter operations as needed.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma

CH-47F Flight Engineer Instructor (FI) Course

Prior military service or experience; 2000 hrs total, 750 FI/SI, and 500 NG

Experience with aerial gunnery, range operations, and aviation safety procedures.

Proficiency in aviation mission planning tools and systems (e.g., AMPS, CHAMPS, PFPS).

Ability to conduct and support flight training and evaluations.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) and threat analysis.

Proficiency in developing synchronization matrices and training resource documents.

Experience with aviation logistics, aircraft delivery, and Class V ammunition planning.

Familiarity with U.S. Army aviation publications and regulatory compliance.
