Job : Seat Survival Kit Technician

Title: Paraloft & SSK Technician

Location: Johnstown, PA

Martin‑Baker America's Seat Survival Kit Technician is responsible for the comprehensive inspection and precision packing of seat survival kits (SSKs). This role ensures all systems meet strict engineering drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory standards. The Technician also maintains detailed documentation and provides technical guidance, directly supporting aircrew safety and survivability.

Responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for executing precision packing/repacking of SSKs to Department of Defense and Martin‑Baker specifications. You will evaluate and troubleshoot equipment, conduct in‑depth failure analysis, and recommend corrective actions. Additional duties include overseeing environmental conditions within the packing facility to ensure product integrity.

This role requires strict adherence to safety procedures, and Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) prevention practices.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Disciplined, detail‑driven approach to ensure all work meets strict technical and regulatory standards.
  • Experience interpreting and applying technical drawings, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to lead activities within area of expertise and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills when working with peers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the support and maintenance of ejection seat components.
  • Experience packing, repacking, and repair of parachutes and SSKs.
