The Fund Administration practice of U.S. Bank Global Fund Services, LLC provides value-added services to a robust and rapidly growing client base which includes mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, offshore funds and other investment companies.
In today's complex and dynamic legal and regulatory environment, clients demand to be serviced by tax professionals who understand the industry, investments and client goals. USBFS tax professionals are seen as trusted advisors to clients and accounting firms to develop and implement innovative tax planning solutions that optimize tax strategies and positions, as well as identify and mitigate risk.
The Tax Manager is responsible for training and supervising work flow of the tax team members. The Tax Manager will have the opportunity to work as part of a team to build and grow the practice by assisting with consulting and analysis projects, incorporating technology solutions to serve our rapidly-growing client base, and developing our tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a depth and breadth of tax technical, procedural, and professional knowledge in the financial services industry, and use these to analyze issues and provide expert solutions to meet client needs.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Oversee workflow of Tax Team, providing timely, high-quality, value-driven tax compliance and consulting services that exceed client expectations.
  • Effectively diagnose the tax needs of clients and provide innovative and cutting-edge tax planning solutions that optimize tax strategies and positions, as well as identify and mitigate client risk.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, which may include providing industry updates regarding technical, regulatory, and compliance developments.
  • Seek technological solutions to improve efficiency, mitigate risk, and improve client service.
  • Support and help initiate technological innovation.
  • Assist business development efforts by contributing to proposals and identifying cross-selling opportunities within existing clients.
  • Maintain solid professional networking contacts, fostering key client relationships and participating in industry or professional associations.
  • Provide team leadership through goal setting, career and professional development.
  • Help create and maintain a results-based team environment.
  • Hire, develop, and retain quality personnel.
  • Motivate, mentor, influence, and inspire others to achieve their full potential.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA certified or candidate
  • Nine or more years of experience in Mutual Fund Administration or related field, i.e., public accounting

Preferred Skills:
  • Masters of taxation, LLM in taxation, JD or MBA a plus.
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive tax-related experience in the financial services industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of GoSystems or other tax software required.

Pay Range: $111,605.00 - $131,300.00
