Job description

Job Summary

As a Fund Accounting Manager at HedgeServ, you will manage the overall NAV calculation process within the guidelines and procedures set by HedgeServ, under the supervision of a Fund Accounting Director and Managing Director. You will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of NAV calculations, assist in the development of client relationships, and maintain a detailed understanding of Hedge Fund Administration service requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships in coordination with the relevant Fund Accounting Director to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Ensure the assigned fund accounting team operates within a clearly defined and documented control environment.
  • Lead and develop client teams of up to 10 employees.
  • Resolve fund accounting enquiries escalated by Supervisor or Administrator.
  • Ensure all aged items on cash and position reconciliations are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Review daily and monthly NAV calculations and improve NAV calculation workflows and procedures.
  • Review fee calculations, profit and loss allocations, and applicable performance metrics (monthly, yearly, inception to date).
  • Manage the audit process, ensuring timely and successful completion of fund audits including preparation for fund financial statements.
  • Investigate accounting implications of new products.
  • Manage and complete client initialization and transition activities.
  • Participate in the development and presentation of fund accounting training.
  • Lead fund accounting recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Resolve exceptional problems and take on special projects or tasks as assigned.
  • Handle complex client calls and establish effective relationships with Investor Services, Quality Assurance, Client Servicing and Compliance departments.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience in a Hedge Fund Administration firm, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
  • Alternative Hedge Fund experience may be considered.
  • Accounting, Finance, Legal or Business degree.
  • Intention to actively pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) โ€“ not required but an advantage.
  • IT literate.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work effectively within a team structure or independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to determine when escalation is required.
  • Strong systems, product and process knowledge.
  • Leadership skills and ability to positively influence team morale.
  • Demonstrated ownership of designated tasks.
