Job description

Fabrication Machine Operator - 1st Shift - $20.00/hour
Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Fabrication Machine Operator to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment, as well as operating/monitoring multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.
What you'll do:Fabrication Machine Operator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Actively participate in Atkore's safety program
  • Cross train in different areas of the shop as required
  • Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Housekeeping and sanitation

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
