Description:

At Hi-Way Paving, we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields.


As Heavy Machinery Operators at Hi-Way Paving, you will play a key role in our construction and paving operations, operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and other machinery. We are currently seeking skilled candidates to join our ongoing Nashville, TN project, with the flexibility to travel to job sites in Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Columbia, SC, and other locations as new projects arise.


What You'll Do:

  • Operate excavators, loaders, GPS dozers, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and performance improvements.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.


What We Look For:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of heavy machinery operation on a construction or paving site (3+ years preferred).
  • Equipment Knowledge: Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Excavators
    • GPS Dozers
    • Loaders
    • Skid steer, roller, screed, etc.
  • Preferred: Highway or heavy construction experience.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).
    • Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
    • Must be at least 18 years old to meet job-site safety and labor requirements.
