Job description

SCHLENK develops and produces high-quality and innovative materials for industrial customers. Our product range includes state-of-the-art effect pigments, coated films, and metal foils.

To support the constantly growing team at our Lawrence, Kansas, manufacturing site, we are offering the following position:    
Machine Operator – Web Coating - D Shift

The Machine Operator is responsible for providing support in the manufacturing area. This is a full-time position, 12 Hour rotating shift depending on production requirements. The current job opening is for D Shift, 7.00 pm – 7.00 am, Friday – Sunday week 1, Thursday –Sunday week 2, when fully trained. Full training will be provided.  
 
Machine Operators work in manufacturing and warehouse environments and must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.  Appropriate PPE must be worn, and proper safety procedures, including grounding and bonding, must be learned and adhered to due to the following hazards in the workplace: flammable liquids and solids, high-speed rotating equipment, organic chemical solvents, pallet jacks, lift trucks, and large industrial machinery.
 
 
Key Job Duties:
  • Operation of various manufacturing equipment
  • General housekeeping of manufacturing areas and the warehouse
  • Adhere to all safety policies while actively promoting safe work practices
 
Qualifications:
·        High School diploma or GED
·        Strong basic math skills
·        Prior mechanical experience
·        Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
·        Good visual observation skills 
·        Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel and Word)
