Job description

D.L. George and Sons Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic with a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Must possess knowledge in all aspects of heavy equipment repairs. Class B CDL License is required.
Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Repairing heavy equipment, over the road tractors, trailers and automobiles.
  • May operate a variety of equipment including hand and power tools.
  • May be required to work at construction job sites, along highways or in a garage setting.
  • Follow directions and instructions of the Shop Supervisor.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to complete required documentation, when needed.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience preferred in the use of CAT SIS and ET software.
  • The Construction Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance.
  • They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions and specifications.
  • They should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving and math skills.
  • They must possess the knowledge and ability to operate and repair equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
