About the Role:

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, forklifts, trailers, mini-excavators, backhoes, Rollers, Etc. Their main duties include running diagnostic tests using electronic equipment or manual methods to identify issues, performing necessary repairs, including but not limited to replacing the vehicle's engine, transmission, steering mechanism, or braking system, and test-driving the vehicle to determine whether the maintenance issue has been properly fixed.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and repair vehicles with diesel engines and Machinery
  • Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes, break checks, and alignments. 
  • Interprets diagnostic test results accurately
  • Record inspection reports and repair plans
  • Collaborate with other diesel mechanics
  • Complete test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly
  • Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely
  • Follow all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards
  • Travel to and from job sites to perform diagnostics and repairs. 


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system, and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
  • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
  • Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
  • A valid driver’s license


Preferred Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
    • Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification/license appropriate for the state/province/region of work.
    • Ability to speak multiple languages or fluency in the local language (if applicable).
