Job description

The Aircraft Composite Technician will be responsible for inspection, repairs and fabrication of aircraft composite structures and components on customer aircraft. Performs work on assigned aircraft including assembly, repair, and modification as qualified while adhering to FAA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Know various types of aircraft sealant and appropriate method application for sealant as well as aircraft fasteners and basic methods of installation and suitable substitutions. Fabricate parts as required and have knowledge of metal and alloys and where substitutes may be used. Layout and perform complex structural repairs that are addressed in the repair manuals and engineering documents. Perform such typical maintenance operations such as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components that require bolting, torqueing, adjusting rigging and safety wiring, including powerplant and flight control removal and reinstallation. Repair, modify, replace, or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems to ensure airworthiness.
Requirements
4-6 years of composites experience on aircraft Experienced with Maintenance Manuals, illustrated parts Catalog, Blueprints, ATA Codes, Service Bulletins, routine and non-routines and other related maintenance documents. Experience with wet layups Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language. Must have own tools High School Diploma or GED Ability to operate safely all ground support equipment, (i.e., Main Lifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.) and possess the Company operating certification. Able to do hot bond repairs with Heatcon hot bonders Able to do metal prep and metal bonds on wing with hot bonders Able to co composite material hot bonds with hot bonders Proficiency with reading and understanding manual references for assigned jobs Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. Subject to continual loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, ladders and/or service stands. Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected. Normal or corrected hearing is required. Must be able to be at work on time and when needed with reliable transportation
