Job description

Who Are We?
Do you want to help to make the world a better place? Join our team! At MSP, our vision is to enrich lives by improving health and productivity. We are proud to provide leading edge solutions enabling rapid innovation in processes and methods in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. MSP employees are part of something special with a purpose.

MSP, A division of TSI, is a fast-moving and agile organization experiencing tremendous growth. MSP serves both the Semiconductor and Pharmaceutical markets. We provide technology-differentiated vaporization and filtration products to CVD/ALD process tool manufacturers in addition to contamination standards and systems to defect inspection equipment manufacturers. MSP is also the industry leader in pharmaceutical inhalation test products and in providing the core measurement for DPI/MDI characterization applications. We are looking for a person who wants to join a dynamic and motivated team serving the pharmaceutical and semiconductor metrology markets.

Mechanical Engineer I at MSP
The primary role of this Mechanical Engineer I position at MSP, a Division of TSI, is to support the design and development of complex and innovative components incorporated into precision vapor delivery systems for semiconductor manufacturing.  The design work  will be supported and driven by  the application of fundamental mechanical engineering principles, with particular emphasis on heat transfer, fluid flow, and particle dynamics. Working as part of cross disciplinary teams, the engineer will complete mechanically focused tasks under guidance from senior engineers and project managers, collaborating with other engineering and manufacturing staff.
This role provides opportunities to apply engineering theory to real world problems, gaining hands on experience with thermal, fluid, and particle related phenomena encountered in liquid-to-vapor conversion used in semiconductor processes such as Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with MSP, you will be responsible for:
With guidance, perform design, modification, experimentation, testing and analysis that is slightly complex in nature.

Apply basic heat transfer principles (conduction, convection, radiation) to support analysis of thermal performance and temperature sensitive components.
Apply fluid flow fundamentals to evaluate flow paths, pressure drop, and flow distribution within system assemblies.
Support analysis and testing related to particle or droplet behavior, including generation, transport, deposition, or evaporation, as applicable to product designs.

With guidance, assist with the setup and execution of experiments and test equipment used to characterize thermal, fluid, and particle related performance analysis that is slightly complex in nature.
Utilize engineering knowledge to collect, interpret, and document test data to support design decisions and problem resolution.
Generate and maintain clear engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, test plans, and reports.

Execute practical engineering ERP processes such as Part Number Creation, Bill of Material modification, and Engineering Change Orders.
Partner with manufacturing personnel to solve production problems.
   Work cooperatively with other departments.

Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
   Other duties as assigned.

What Do You Need?
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (If a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is held, substitutions may be made for the Bachelor's degree.)
0-2 years of product development engineering experience
   Mechanical engineering fundamentals
   Engineering tools and software
   3D CAD Modeling
   Office Applications

Desired
   Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Previous internship or co-op experience during the course of earning a required degree
   SOLIDWORKS CAD Experience
