HOURS: Monday – Friday 9-5

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB TYPE: Full-Time

Location: New York – Hybrid
Travel: Approximately 30–50%

RATE: 100k -135k (Dependent on Experience)

The Role

The Director, Public Health & Community Partnerships will support the development and execution of Healthix's public health strategy, using data, research, and strategic partnerships to advance initiatives that improve population health and healthcare outcomes across New York communities.

Reporting to the Vice President of Public Health & Government Affairs, the Director will build relationships with public health agencies, healthcare organizations, community-based organizations, academic and research institutions, health plans, payers, and other stakeholders to identify emerging health needs and opportunities for collaboration.

The Director will combine Healthix's longitudinal healthcare data with public health, population, demographic, environmental, and other relevant data and research to support studies, programs, and initiatives that provide meaningful insight into health outcomes, disparities, healthcare utilization, resource availability, and healthcare costs.

A critical responsibility of the role will be translating these insights into compelling, actionable information that can educate and influence policymakers, healthcare leaders, providers, insurers, health plans, payers, community leaders, and other decision-makers and contribute to strategies that improve health outcomes and the allocation of healthcare resources.

Key Responsibilities Public Health Strategy & Programs
  • Partner with the Vice President of Public Health & Government Affairs to develop and execute Healthix's public health, population health, health equity, and community engagement strategy.
  • Monitor public health priorities and emerging health trends across New York City, Long Island, and New York State and identify opportunities where Healthix's data and partnerships can contribute to solutions.
  • Develop and support studies, programs, and collaborative initiatives addressing areas such as population health, health equity, chronic disease, maternal health, behavioral and mental health, environmental health, healthcare access, and social drivers of health.
  • Apply knowledge of public health data, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health economics to evaluate population trends, health outcomes, disease burden, healthcare utilization, resource availability, and healthcare costs.
  • Examine the relationship between health outcomes and environmental, social, behavioral, and economic factors affecting the populations Healthix serves.
Data, Research & Impact
  • Collaborate with Healthix's data and technical teams and external partners to use Healthix's longitudinal data and other relevant data sources to support public health studies and initiatives.
  • Gather, evaluate, and synthesize public health, population, demographic, healthcare utilization, cost, and community-level data to identify trends, disparities, risks, and opportunities.
  • Translate complex data and research findings into clear insights, presentations, reports, recommendations, and compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop meaningful measures and outcomes to demonstrate the impact of public health initiatives and partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities where Healthix's data can provide new insight into population health challenges and support evidence-based decision-making.
Partnerships & Influence
  • Develop meaningful relationships with public health agencies, healthcare providers, health systems, health plans, payers, insurers, academic and research institutions, community-based organizations, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders throughout New York.
  • Use these relationships to identify opportunities for collaborative research, public health programs, funding, and community initiatives.
  • Bring together Healthix data, external expertise, and strategic partners to develop initiatives capable of driving measurable public health impact.
  • Present findings and recommendations to government, healthcare, and community stakeholders to educate, inform, and influence decisions related to healthcare policy, programs, resource allocation, access, and investment.
  • Represent Healthix at public health forums, community meetings, conferences, coalitions, and stakeholder discussions.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, Population Health, Health Policy, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in public health, population health, healthcare, research, government, academic, nonprofit, or related environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with public health and population-level data, including the ability to interpret statistical and epidemiological findings.
  • Working knowledge of biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, healthcare utilization, and healthcare cost concepts.
  • Knowledge of health equity, environmental and social drivers of health, and behavioral and mental health.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and research into actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to develop partnerships across healthcare, government, public health, academic, and community organizations.
  • Strong presentation, writing, analytical, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with healthcare data, health information exchange, clinical data, claims, Medicaid populations, or real-world healthcare data is highly desirable.
  • Must reside in New York State and demonstrate meaningful knowledge of and professional or community connections within New York City, Long Island, or surrounding New York communities.
