Job description

Our client is hiring a Systems Engineer, munition design, analysis, integration and testing, is seeking a highly organized, goal-oriented systems engineer to join our growing organization, in our Tucson, AZ location. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of complex defense systems. The position requires a strong background in systems engineering, a keen understanding of defense industry standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of defense systems, ensuring they meet stringent specifications and performance requirements

• Support the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost restraints

• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions

• Deliver technical guidance and recommendations to engineering team, helping them understand and drive innovation and advanced protype concepts into automation, modeling and simulation, software architectures, and integration outcomes

• Conduct system integration and testing to verify and validate the functionality, performance, and security of defense systems

• Participate/lead and coordinate preparation, conduct and closeout of internal and external customers reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and Stage Gate reviews

• Identify potential risks and cost associated with system development and implementation

• Ensure compliance with defense industry standards and regulations

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field preferred

• Proven experience in systems engineering within the Defense Industry, 6-10 years

• Rapid development

• Requirements development, management, and requirements configuration control

• Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate across Cross-Discipline Teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, GNC, Manufacturing, Operations, etc…)

• Ability to generate block diagrams, interface control diagrams (electrical, logical, software etc… )

• Intermediate experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project and/or other applicable tools

• Integration, Test, Verification and Validation Experience

• Desired - Model based engineering and tools (MBSE, SysML, Cameo or equivalent)

• Desired - Configuration Management Experience

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

• Must be able to verify U.S. citizenship

• Ability to obtain necessary security clearance

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in a casual, collaborative engineering environment located in Niceville, FL or Tucson, AZ. The workplace culture emphasizes innovation, agility, and a people-first mindset, with a history of stability and growth. The dress code is relaxed, and team members commonly wear shorts or jeans. Work is performed primarily during core hours of Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with additional flexibility as needed to support project demands. The environment involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and hands-on work with guidance, navigation, and control systems, flight software, simulations, and test equipment. Periodic travel is required to support integration and testing at external facilities and test ranges. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $76.92/hr.
