Department/Unit Summary

Provides strategic leadership for the organization's Quality, Risk Management, and Medical Staff functions, overseeing clinical risk programs, claims management, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for developing departmental goals and standards, directing operational performance, patient care quality, audits, staffing, budgeting, and compliance activities. Collaborates across the organization to ensure regulatory readiness, drive continuous improvement, foster professional development, and support excellence throughout the continuum of care.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. MSN, Healthcare Administration, and MBA strongly preferred.

  • BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Prior acute healthcare risk management experience is preferred and can substitute for the leadership experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in Nursing with at least 3 years as a Director/Manager.
  • Experience working in a for-profit hospital strongly preferred. Previous Director level experience preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification preferred upon hire and required within three years of employment.
