Make a Difference in Patient Care A Woman's Choice Clinics is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and adaptable Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our clinical team. As an HCA, you'll play an important role in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. You'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members, supporting patients throughout their visit while helping keep our clinic running smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of treating every patient with dignity, empathy, and confidentiality. What You'll Do Support Patients Welcome and assist patients with compassion, respect, and professionalism. Collect and accurately document vital signs, symptoms, medications, allergies, and other patient information in the EMR. Assist with appointment coordination, patient questions, phone calls, and other administrative needs. Provide Clinical Support Prepare exam and treatment rooms and assist providers with patient care and procedures within your training and scope. Perform authorized point-of-care testing, including pregnancy and hemoglobin testing. Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition to licensed clinical staff. Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Maintain a Safe, Clean Clinical Environment Clean, disinfect, organize, and restock patient care areas and common spaces. Sterilize and wrap instruments using established infection-control procedures. Safely operate medical equipment and help maintain clinical supplies and inventory. Document & Support the Team Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation in the EMR. Maintain required CPR/BLS certification. Support peer training as assigned and take on additional responsibilities within your training and authorized scope. What We're Looking For Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A calm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively with patients, visitors, providers, and coworkers. Ability to move comfortably between front-office and back-office responsibilities in a busy clinical setting. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Current CPR and/or BLS certification, required at the time of hire for new HCA I employees. Availability to work Saturdays and evening clinical shifts. Strong commitment to A Woman's Choice's mission and values, including support for accessible abortion care. Preferred Previous experience in a medical, clinical, or reproductive healthcare setting. Safety & Infection Control: You take clinical cleanliness, sterilization, equipment safety, and infection-control procedures seriously. Teamwork: You support your coworkers, communicate clearly, and step in where needed during busy clinic days. What to Expect This is a full-time, hourly position in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment. You'll regularly move between reception areas, patient rooms, lab spaces, procedure rooms, and recovery areas. The role includes Saturday and evening clinical shifts and involves working around medical equipment, sterilization equipment, and clinical cleaning products. You'll also work directly with patients who may be experiencing sensitive or emotionally stressful healthcare situations.
