Job description

Health Services Director in Training (HSDiT) - Los Angeles
The Health Services Director in Training (HSDiT) Program is designed for motivated licensed nurses who are looking to grow into a Health Services Director leadership role with Oakmont. Individuals in the program are trained by department heads at the community level and gain a comprehensive understanding of how to manage a team as a Health Services Director. Once they have completed department training, they are placed at a community and work under a current Health Services Director to gain on-the-job experience. In addition to being an excellent professional development opportunity, this program provides customized leadership training to motivated individuals who are wanting to grow with us.
Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000
Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Candidates from Oakmont will need to have a minimum of six months in their current position.
  • Prefer two (2) years� experience as a Licensed Nurse; one (1) years� experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
  • All candidates will need to have a California LVN or RN License in good standing.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the state during the training process and must be open to relocation for a permanent position.
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical leadership; prior experience coaching or mentoring peers preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a passion for serving older adults.
  • Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals.
  • Proficient in basic computer systems and ability to learn electronic health records and other Company tools.
  • Able to adapt and respond to change, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Must be coachable, highly motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid First Aid and CPR, as needed.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Health Screening tests.

Length of program
The program is anticipated to be three months depending on prior experience of the candidate.
Assignment after program completion
The next assignment might be any of the following:
  • A Health Services Director position at an Oakmont community. Some HSDiTs might be ready, depending on background and training success, to immediately step into an HSD position. In most cases the HSDiT, be placed in a stable existing property as opposed to a troubled property.
  • A vacant management position in a community- example- Memory Care Director, Assisted Living Director.
  • A management position in a new property especially if the candidate has had experience in a new property
  • As a Floating Health Services Director in stable properties with a strong management team.
