General Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst (TBA) to serve as a key bridge between our business teams and engineering organization within a fast-paced FinTech environment. This role goes beyond traditional business analysis - it requires a strategic thinker who can not only define business requirements but also partner deeply with engineering to develop detailed technical specifications and drive successful execution.
The ideal candidate is technically fluent, analytically rigorous, and thrives in ambiguous environments. You will lead the charge in understanding what we're building, why we're building it, and how it will be implemented. Your ability to synthesize complex information and operate with high autonomy will make you an indispensable partner to product managers, engineers, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, product, and engineering to understand objectives and gather functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Translate high-level business goals into clear, comprehensive, and technically-detailed documentation (e.g., user stories, data flows, system interface specs).
    • Technical Collaboration
      • Work directly with engineering teams to validate feasibility, co-design solutions, and prioritize trade-off's.
      • Provide clarity and ongoing support throughout development cycles, from concept to deployment.
      • Serve as a key contributor to architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with long-term scalability and platform strategies.
      • Solution Design & Documentation
        • Author robust business and technical documentation including workflow diagrams, API interaction models, systems integration points, and test case outlines.
        • Identify dependencies and gaps across systems and teams, ensuring cohesive implementation plans.
        • Delivery Oversight
          • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, grooming, retrospectives).
          • Support QA and UAT efforts by clarifying expected behavior and evaluating test results.
          • Proactively identify issues, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
          • Subject Matter Expertise
            • Become the internal expert on the scope, rationale, and mechanics of the products and systems you're assigned. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of platform capabilities and data structures.

            Qualifications & Skills

            • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
            • 4+ years of experience in business or technical analysis roles, ideally within FinTech, SaaS, or enterprise platforms.
            • Strong understanding of software development processes and systems architecture.
            • Proficiency in authoring detailed technical specs for engineering consumption.
            • Experience with APIs, data models, system integration, and relational databases.
            • Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools (JIRA, Confluence, Asana, etc.).
            • Excellent communication skills; able to influence and build trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
            • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and lead requirements for multiple projects concurrently.

            Preferred Qualifications

            • Experience with Salesforce, Postgres, REST APIs, or other modern tech stacks.
            • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps culture, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP).
            • Background in technical project management, product management, or systems analysis a plus.

            • Analytical rigor - you're data- and logic-driven.
            • Technical curiosity - you naturally explore how systems work behind the scenes.
            • Structured communicator - your written and verbal articulation leaves no ambiguity.
            • Collaborative and low-ego - you thrive in a team-oriented, solutions-focused environment.
            • Self-starter - you take ownership and push initiatives forward with minimal direction.
