Job description

Job Title: Associate Director, Business Development

Location: Philadelphia, PA or New York

Position Overview:

What You Do:

  • Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities within specified customer accounts to meet and exceed annual sales revenue goals
  • Think strategically and develop innovative approaches to drive sales and revenue growth in the pharma advertising sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by identifying key decision-makers and champions at both manufacturers and agencies, understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions across Health Union's products (DTC, HCP and Programmatic) to meet their objectives, and developing an in-depth knowledge of the organization
  • Travel frequently to meet clients, cultivate partnerships through networking events, entertainment and conferences, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of advertising campaigns.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiate IOs and close deals to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Efficiently manage accounts and account status in Salesforce
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to inform business strategies.
  • Manage and execute against annual T&E budgets

What You Bring:

  • 1-3 years of experience in account management, client success, or sales, ideally within health-science, pharma, or healthcare advertising/media
  • Current client networking relationships in pharma / life-sciences / healthcare are highly desirable.
  • A passion for strategic thinking and a desire to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong commitment to achieve and exceed assigned goals.
  • Proven expertise in account planning
  • Proven execution ability under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • An attitude to working collaboratively and effectively with others in and across the team to accomplish goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Sociology, or a related field.

Annual base salary for positions at this level and job group is $79,000 - $105,000, and your base pay will depend on the qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies required for this job.

Health Union currently offers a sales incentive compensation program for all full-time Business Development employees. The incentive is based upon the Sales Team Member meeting their annual revenue target.

At Health Union, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range that provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.

In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, a professional development budget, and paid time off available to full-time employees upon hire. You will also be granted time off for designated company-paid holidays, summer Fridays, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
