Are you an experienced hospitalist interested in advancing your career? If the answer is yes, TeamHealth has the perfect opportunity for you to join our team. We are seeking an experienced hospitalist physician to join our team as a full-time nocturnist at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas. This role is best suited for clinicians with prior inpatient experience, as we are unable to consider new graduates.
About
  • Schedule: 7pm to 7am, 7-on/7-off block schedule
  • Contract: 14 to 15 shifts per month with opportunities for additional shifts

Responsibilities
  • Manage nightly admissions (average 9 to 10 per night)
  • Supervise an APC until midnight
  • Respond to cross-coverage calls
  • Run codes and rapid responses
  • No procedures required

Support
  • APC handles most floor calls until the end of their shift
  • 16-bed semi-closed ICU with pulmonary/critical care support
  • Intensivists available 24/7 and return onsite overnight as needed

Facility
  • St. Francis is a 378-bed hospital
  • Strong specialty coverage and supportive nursing staff
  • Wide variety of cases due to referrals from regional critical access hospitals

Candidates must be MD or DO, trained in internal medicine or family medicine, ABIM/ABFM board certified or eligible, ACLS-certified, and compliant with initial COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
