Job description


Administer and monitor the safety and health programs for an Operating Group of a consulting engineering firm. Responsibilities may include ongoing safety program coordination/administration, providing safety information and consulting, safety communication and training program development, administration and management of workers compensation claims.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with all Operating Group Safety Professionals to create, manage, train, and audit safety programs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all safety and health issues for which assistance is needed.
  • Administer driver safety program.
  • Responsible for the case management of all workers compensation claims and coordination of claims with the third party administrator.
  • Serve as a designated company radiation safety officer; ensure radiation regulatory compliance for the company and field offices including the tracking of licensed nuclear devices.
  • Monitor activities of Local Safety Coordinators to ensure safe practices are being followed; Audit submittal and inspection requirements.
  • Develop and present safety and health training materials and programs.
  • Assist in safety program improvements, policy revisions, communications, etc.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety, Safety Management or related field. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years' related experience.
  • Knowledge of accident prevention, risk management and general working knowledge of OSHA construction safety regulations.
  • Experience with DOT (FMCSA) Commercial Driver requirements
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
