The Emory Pain Center and the Emory Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences are seeking a dynamic and collaborative faculty psychologist with expertise in pain management to join the Emory Pain Center’s interdisciplinary team. The Emory Pain Center is part of the Department of Anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine and serves as a regional referral center for complex pain conditions. Its mission is to deliver compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care through interdisciplinary treatment models that include medical, interventional, behavioral, and complementary therapies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in clinical psychology, clinical health psychology, or counseling psychology, as well as integrated care, pain management, and the provision of culturally responsive care. They will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions to patients with complex acute and chronic pain, while also contributing to integrated clinical care, education, and research efforts.

Applicants should:

· Hold a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program and have completed an APA-accredited internship and at least one year of supervised postdoctoral training with a focus in pain psychology, health psychology, or behavioral medicine

· Be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in Georgia

· Be board certified or obtain board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) within five years of appointment

· Have experience working in interdisciplinary teams in academic medical settings, ideally providing evidence-informed assessments and treatments for patients with acute and chronic pain

· Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to team-based care

· Be familiar with integrated electronic health record (EHR) documentation workflows and measurement-based care

Primary Responsibilities:

· Participate in integrated care models alongside physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans

· Provide individual and group-based psychological assessments and interventions for patients with chronic pain conditions (e.g., CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches)

· Work collaboratively with faculty to design and implement protocols that embed behavioral health into perioperative pain care pathways, opioid tapering, and neuromodulation

· Support the development and delivery of educational programs for pain fellows, residents, and medical students

· Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement projects related to behavioral pain medicine

· Maintain appropriate documentation and adherence to best practices and ethical standards.
