Summary
The Manager of Product Lifecycles is responsible for the strategic development and leadership of the product development team. Leads team to develop strategies to meet the Sanford Health Plan financial performance and growth goals through integrated product offerings.
Job Description
Responsible for the day-to-day performance of the product development team. Manages and coordinates product development activities within the department. Develops best practices to ensure commercial products are positioned to meet Sanford Health Plan strategies and membership goals. Strives to improve the customer experience and value of products provided by the Sanford Health Plan.
Drives the analysis, development and monitoring of new and existing products and services. Participates in conducting market research and analysis, measuring customer preferences, industry standards and trends. Monitors national carrier and local competitor products. Collaborates with other teams to evaluate, analyze and modify benefit designs, networks and pricing to ensure marketability of products. Partners with leadership team to develop proposals for innovative products and services that will ensure product positioning. Provides financial projections, sales forecasts and marketing and implementation plans for new products.
Educates all levels of staff on product features and assists with implementation of new products and enhancements as needed. Manages relationships with vendors, product development partners and affiliate contracts. Participates in budget forecasting. Possesses strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Possesses advanced knowledge in benefits design, insurance industry processes, fully-insured and self-funded plan designs. Demonstrates strong abilities in creative thinking, project planning, new product development and effective communications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or healthcare administration required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum five years' experience in new product development or business management. Previous insurance sales experience helpful.
