This role involves delivering detailed explanations, facilitating interactive educational programs, and providing exceptional customer service. The guide ensures accurate, up-to-date information while maintaining visitor safety and adhering to established protocols. Continuous professional development and mentoring of new docents are integral to this position. The Museum Guide actively supports the museum’s mission by promoting exhibitions and fostering a positive, respectful environment for all visitors.

  • Lead guided tours for various visitor groups, providing explanations of exhibits
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing visitor inquiries and offering assistance throughout their museum experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of exhibits and museum content, ensuring accuracy in all communications.
  • Promote visitor safety by following established protocols and implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
  •  Welcomes visitors and customers into Walton’s 5&10 and direct museum visitors into museum
  • Operates registers to ring in sales
  • Knowledgeable of pricing of products
  • Follow cash handling procedures and policies
  • Follows standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing of products
  •  Answers the telephone, practicing proper phone etiquette
  • Performs cleaning tasks in accordance with duty lists and standards

The hourly wage range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
