ASI is seeking an experienced Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Engineer to work in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will manage and participate in various PHM and Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) engineering efforts for our NAVAIR and commercial customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate (PHM) Program Plans and requirements for aircraft and support systems
  • Perform PHM analyses, predictions, allocations, and calculate metrics
  • Evaluate Fault Detection, Fault Isolation, and perform Testability Analyses
  • Monitor the development of the Health Management System to ensure that the design meets the requirements
  • Attend and support BIT Review Board (BRB) and software/hardware design improvement meetings
  • Review engineering and design integration of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for PHM considerations
  • Determine key PHM metrics, identify problem areas, and assist in developing design modifications and ECPs
  • Support the design, development, and performance of Integrated Health Management System (IHMS)/Built-In-Test (BIT) processes
  • Review deliverables from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and supplier related to health management system
  • Collect On-Board and Off-Board PHM data to evaluate and populate FRACAS databases
  • Generate various reports outlining findings and recommendations
  • Aid in the development of an organic sustainment solution for health management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, aeronautics, electronics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer or relevant PHM experience
  • Experience testing/evaluating health management systems
  • Experience with the NAVAIR acquisition process
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft 365 to include Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel as necessary (estimated 6 trips per year)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in areas such as CBM+ and Integrated Diagnostics, FRACAS, and statistical methods
  • Experience developing algorithms to analyze health management data
  • Experience drafting and developing health monitoring data processing procedures within classified and unclassified environments at ground stations
