Job description

Associate Systems Engineer - Health Management

Company:

The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Systems Engineer - Health Management to join the Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) team in Hazelwood, MO. This role will support a proprietary program as well as other platforms in the GVHMS portfolio within the Boeing Global Services (BGS) organization.

This team develops and fields aircraft health management systems across multiple platforms-including F/A-18, E/A-18, F-15, T7, MQ-25, and proprietary programs-by acquiring and managing aircraft health and usage data, performing assessments, updating configurations, and recommending maintenance actions. The team is looking for a highly motivated systems engineer to collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions within the GVHMS portfolio. This role may require interaction with internal and external stakeholders to ensure software products are developed in alignment with supporting customer, business and program needs. The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical system engineering skills as well as project management skills. Good oral and written communication is essential to succeed in this position. This role will work closely with the software development team, hardware team, test team, other System Engineers, and leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions

  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture

  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success

  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes

  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • 1+ years of experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design)

  • 1+ years of experience working systems engineering across multiple phases of the product life-cycle

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • 1+ years' experience building stakeholder and customer relationships

  • Agile development experience

  • Experience with military aircraft and Proprietary programs

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by influence

  • 2+ years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is a plus

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and CAM duties
