Job description

Position Summary:

The HRIS Analyst is a Human Resources administrative position responsible for the day-to-day setup, administration, and optimization of the organization’s UKG system across all sites. Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, this role optimizes the HRIS to support the proper structure, organization, and functions of Human Resources - including employee records, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, performance, and compliance. The HRIS Analyst assists in maintaining data integrity, performing routine configuration and system updates, and providing frontline support to HR and operational users to support process improvements and enhancements under the direction of HR leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administration and user support for the UKG HR modules, including Core HR, employee records, benefits, time & attendance, recruiting, onboarding, performance, and related HR functions.
  • Assist in maintaining system security roles, workflows, and configuration standards under established governance guidelines.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive employee data — including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and personal identification and contact information — and administer system security and access so users can view only the data appropriate to their role.
  • Help ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all HRIS modules and integrations through routine audits and data entry.
  • Support system releases, patches, and new feature adoption by assisting with testing and documentation.
  • Support Workforce Management (WFM) functions such as scheduling, labor tracking, and attendance within UKG Pro.
  • Assist operations and HR teams in applying WFM configurations in line with business needs and labor regulations.

Process Support & Improvement

  • Help identify opportunities to improve HR and benefits processes for greater efficiency and better organization.
  • Assist in configuring workflows, business rules, and system updates as directed.
  • Support cross-functional efforts to streamline employee lifecycle processes (hire-to-retire).

Reporting, Analytics & Compliance

  • Build and maintain standard HR reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries for HR and leadership.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations through accurate data management and routine audit checks.
  • Support annual HR cycles such as open enrollment, performance reviews, and compliance reporting.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with HR and Operations to support system alignment with business needs.
  • Serve as a point of contact with UKG Support for routine issue resolution and enhancement requests, escalating complex items to the Senior Human Resources Manager.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and basic training to HR and operational users to support effective system use.

Project Support

  • Support HRIS-related projects, including module setup, upgrades, integrations, and data conversions, under the direction of the Senior Human Resources Manager.
  • Assist with project tasks such as testing, documentation, data validation, and status updates.
  • Support new entity activations, new site onboarding, and organizational restructuring within the system.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in an HRIS or HR administrative support role; exposure to UKG or a comparable HRIS preferred.
  • Working knowledge of core HR functions, benefits, and compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with configuring or maintaining HRIS modules and workflows.
  • Solid Excel and reporting skills; experience with Business Intelligence, or UKG Pro Reporting a plus.
  • Ability to support projects and coordinate tasks across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with how the HRIS connects to other systems; able to coordinate with IT on integrations while Human Resources retains control of sensitive employee data.
  • Background in multi-site, multi-state, or hospitality/operations environments.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or major upgrades.

Key Competencies

  • Process improvement mindset and willingness to learn.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly guidance.
  • Discretion and a strong commitment to confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable supporting end-to-end processes.
