The pay range for this position is $18.00-$22.31 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Health Information & Teleradiology Associate to join our team. As a Health Information & Teleradiology Associate, you will be responsible for providing administrative and technological support for the teleradiology department by sending radiologic images over WAN and LAN between centers and to radiologists. Works to ensure all record requests from patients, referring physicians, attorneys, internal departments, etc. are fulfilled in an appropriate manner and all patient records are accurately maintained.This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday rotating shifts each week from 7:30am-4:00-pm and 8:00am-4:30pm, no weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(50%) Technological Support

  • Copies CD's of outside read exams when needed
  • Forwards images and paperwork to appropriate radiologist and location
  • Assists Radiologist Assistant with entering outside reads, networking and assigning cases
  • Checks ACUO, eFilm and computers for proper function
  • Troubleshoots FusionRIS, ACUO and eFilm issues, MergePacs
  • Checks FusionRIS for each site and modality for pending manual assignment
  • Checks with on-call radiologist concerning exams that need to be networked to their homes on a daily basis
  • Ensures that after hour reads are setup for the radiologist that is to read the scan
  • Follows up with radiologist if previous day's exams not read

(45%) Medical Records Administration & Administrative Support

  • Ensures that all incoming and outgoing medical report requests are processed on a daily basis
  • Answers telephone requests for patient files from referring physician offices and patients
  • Prepares the daily CD's and reports for delivery by the various services
  • Files and organizes the lists of outgoing images and reports
  • Ships all other items leaving clinic using preferred shipper as needed
  • Finds and retrieves outside images for doctors, technologists, and research
  • Communicates with attorney and insurance companies regarding patients
  • Communicates with patients to ensure they receive the records they have requested
  • Follows all HIPAA guidelines for release of information
  • Create addendums, amendments and hospital report tracking for results (example: pathology)

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year Microsoft Office experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing
