Position Summary

The Director of EHR & Enterprise Applications is a senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, ownership, optimization, and delivery of Care Advantage's enterprise application ecosystem. This includes our Electronic Health Record (EHR), CRM platforms, revenue cycle tools, AI-enabled solutions, and other mission-critical systems supporting home health and personal care operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends deep technical ownership with strong business partnership, project execution, and people leadership. The Director translates clinical, operational, and financial needs into scalable technology solutions and positions IT as a strategic enabler of quality, efficiency, and growth.

Essential Responsibilities

EHR / EMR Ownership & Optimization (Integrity & Excellence)

  • Serve as the system owner and subject matter expert for the organization's EHR platform (currently AlayaCare), including configuration, workflow design, upgrades, and regulatory compliance (EVV, OASIS, HIPAA, interoperability).
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to optimize workflows, reduce documentation burden, and improve user adoption.
  • Act as the primary vendor relationship owner, managing SLAs, escalations, and roadmap alignment.
  • Oversee EHR training, SOP development, and change management initiatives to ensure consistent and compliant use across the organization.
  • Support Revenue Cycle and Finance teams with billing configuration, payer setup, payroll modules, and financial accuracy.
  • Define, monitor, and report EHR adoption and performance KPIs.

Enterprise Applications Management (Accountability & Respect)

  • Own the full enterprise application portfolio, including CRM (Salesforce), revenue cycle tools (Waystar), AI/automation platforms, and other business systems.
  • Lead system integrations, data flows, and API management to maintain data integrity and operational continuity.
  • Establish application governance standards, including access controls, documentation, and change management protocols.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and onboard new technologies aligned with organizational priorities and the IT strategic roadmap.

Project Management & Execution (Accountability & Excellence)

  • Lead end-to-end technology initiatives from requirements gathering through go-live and post-implementation support.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risks, and executive-level communications.
  • Drive accountability across cross-functional teams and external vendors, resolving barriers quickly and effectively.
  • Apply formal project management methodologies (Agile, PMI, or hybrid).
  • Maintain a transparent portfolio dashboard to provide leadership visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on impact, value, and organizational readiness.

Strategy & Innovation (Compassion & Excellence)

  • Build and maintain a multi-year enterprise application roadmap aligned with Care Advantage's clinical, operational, and financial goals.
  • Stay current on home health, personal care, and healthcare technology trends, including AI and automation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, caregiver efficiency, and revenue performance through technology.
  • Partner with the CIO to present strategy, business cases, and progress updates to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7–10+ years of progressive IT or health informatics experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience as a system owner or senior administrator for a home health or personal care EHR.
  • Strong project management experience leading complex, cross-functional implementations.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, SLAs, and third-party integrations.
  • Knowledge of home health regulatory requirements (EVV, OASIS, HIPAA, interoperability).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with AlayaCare (or similar platforms such as WellSky, MatrixCare, Homecare HomeBase, Axxess) – STRONGLY Preferred
  • Salesforce (Health Cloud, Sales Cloud) and/or Waystar experience.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, or advanced analytics in healthcare.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid work environment with occasional travel to Care Advantage locations.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work during critical implementations.
  • Must be able to meet basic physical demands of an office environment.
