The Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is one of the integral organizations within the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
Internship opportunities vary depending on education level and/or location. We offer internship roles in areas including but not limited to:
1. IT Security - Provide basic support for IT Security operations, engineering and compliance functions such as event monitoring, service request fulfillment, system administration, metrics reporting, documentation writing
2. End User Computing - Provide basic support with installation or relocation of computer equipment and serve as a first level problem analysis. Resolve service requests and perform technical downloads and PC configurations with direct guidance
3. Clinical Applications/Informatics - Project support for healthcare application, implementation, and optimization that require knowledge of how to conduct workflow analysis, requirements gathering and documentation
4. Telecommunications & Network Services - Provide basic support for telecommunications and network projects, operations, implementation, monitoring and documentation writing
5. Project Management - Assist Project Managers in the day to day management and coordination of tasks related to project work
6. Service Desk - Provide basic end user support with first level problem analysis. Resolve service requests and incidents, including system disruptions and access control under direct guidance
7. Business Applications - Project support for software implementations that require knowledge of requirements gathering, basic programming and report writing
8. IT Business Office - Assist in analytics related to IT project budgeting, ROI assessment, and vendor contract management

1. Currently enrolled at a college or university in a graduate, undergraduate, continuing education, or bootcamp program or a recent graduate of such a program within the last 12 months.
