POSITION SUMMARY:

We at Cleveland Area Hospital are seeking a positive, detail-oriented Clinical Informatics Manager to lead our clinical informatics team and collaborate with our network team. In this role, you will lead the optimization and maintenance of our electronic medical record systemsโ€”Cerner and Athenaโ€”while driving projects that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in clinical workflows, hands-on EMR experience, and solid project management skills, along with a working knowledge of IT systems and training practices. PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ยท Manage Information Technology and Network Systems, including Clinic and Hospital EMRs.

ยท Collaboratively analyze technology requirements across the organization and develop solutions for IT needs. Participates in hardware and software evaluations.

ยท Provide application support, troubleshooting, support training needs, unit reporting, or departmental analytics activities.

ยท Evaluate and maintain IT inventory, including recommendations for upgrades, additions, or replacements.

ยท Examine usage/efficiency of EMR features or add-ons on a routine basis.

ยท Responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, and developing the IT team that supports the missions and values of the organization.

ยท Responsible for performance tracking of improvement initiatives related to department goals and objectives.

ยท Review/create IT policies, as needed.

ยท Other duties as assigned.

ยท Adhere to all policies of the organization, including (but not limited to) job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standard, and patientsโ€™ rights.

Collaboration & Department support

ยท Represent the organization in IT related discussion/meetings.

ยท Stay up to date with organizational communication and directives.

ยท Serve as primary resource for leveraging technology to improve/maximize clinical workflows, ensuring efficiency across hospital and clinic departments.

ยท Act as liaison between CAH and offsite IT Support, regarding organization support needs, project requests, and analyzing performance.

Requirements:EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, Nursing or related field experience (5 years healthcare admin) required.

ยท Clinical background or formal education in a health-related discipline (e.g., nursing, allied health, clinical informatics) strongly preferred.

ยท Proficiency in Cerner / Athena EMR applications is a plus.

ยท Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.

EXPERIENCE:

ยท Extensive experience with hospital information systems, including EHR/EMR, PACS, RIS, LIS, pharmacy systems, and clinical decision support tools

ยท Strong understanding of clinical system integration

ยท Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions and understand clinical documentation, order entry, medication administration, and other clinical workflows

ยท Experience overseeing IT service desk operations, system upgrades, and downtime procedures

ยท Requires a high level of personal integrity and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and demonstrate the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.

ยท Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network, systems administration, databases, data storage systems, and phone systems.

ยท Experience leading and managing IT or clinical informatics projects; experience with IT service performance metrics and benchmarking; experience with IT infrastructure and operations best practices

ยท Requires a high degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision.

ยท Must have well-developed planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

regulations as well as Compliance Policies.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

The following physical/mental demands are required for the Manager of IT and Clinical Informatics role at CAH; however, some of these requirements may need to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Occasionally shift, lift, and transfer at least 50 pounds and exert a minimum of 60 pounds of push or pull force.

Regularly bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder height, and push or pull.

The employee must have sufficient visual acuity to read fine print on articles, computer screens, printouts, and more.

The employee must be able to speak clearly and distinctly enough to communicate effectively and be understood by employees, management, and the public.

The employee must have access to independent, reliable transportation.
