Job Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
Full engagement in demonstrating commitment to Health First and the VitalWatch eICU while always maintaining the customer as priority. Role includes, but is not limited based on system initiatives to: assisting licensed personnel in providing accurate data acquisition, collection, and entry, under the direction and supervision of the System Director or designee. The eHUC will abstract data from multiple clinical information systems and accurately enter said data into the eCareManager (eCM) application while fostering and having direct involvement with departmental goals and Health First initiatives.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Associate supports engagement through adherence to the I-CARE commitments while exhibiting and promoting behaviors consistent with a highly engaged associate.
  2. Assists with, adheres to, and promotes Health First and department-specific goal(s).
  3. Navigates through all interfaced and non-interfaced clinical applications to arrange appropriate entries into eCM with understanding of the need to maintain accurate reports required to keep eCM a live and dynamically functioning environment.
  4. Responds to VitalWatch phone calls in a timely and appropriate manner with proper role identification in addition to responding promptly to eLerts and requests from the eRN and ePhysician.
  5. Identifies and follows downtime procedures when necessary.
  6. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and communication with other members of the health care team and promotes effective team functioning while providing service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, cultural, and individual differences.
  7. Effectively communicates with members of the eICU team and bedside staff in a professional manner to provide safe and error-free care to enhance the patient/customer experience in addition to communicating all operating issues to appropriate persons to solve said issues.
  8. Completes assigned tasks and job responsibilities in a timely manner using critical care thinking skills to prioritize and maintain system requirements and perform effectively in role.
  9. Exhibits behaviors of financial prudency inclusive, but not limited to, prompt arrival and departure from work site, adherence to Health First break and meal-time policies, dependability, reliability, and flexibility in relation to work schedule to ensure safe, adequate staffing coverage, and proper use and care of necessary job-related supplies and equipment.
  10. Embraces and facilitates a lean-thinking culture for Health First to assist with efficiency.
  11. Demonstrates dependability, reliability, and flexibility with regard to schedules and work/PTO time.

Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensure: None Required
  • Certification: Must hold/possess prior to start date, and maintain current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card
  • Work Experience: Possess knowledge of medical terminology or class concurrent to position start
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  1. Ability to multi-task, organize, and work with various computer applications,
  2. Understanding of HIPAA rules required
  3. Must possess excellent communication skills and be customer-service oriented
  4. Must have skill to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language
  5. Proficiency with Windows-based skills and applications containing same.

  • Work Experience: Has worked in the medical field and has possibly functioned as a HUC
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (ADA, Travel, Environment, Noise)
  • Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks with corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift.
  • Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment & prioritize role tasks.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to life-threatening situations and triage multiple fluctuations in ICU patient physiology.
  • Ability to provide continuous concentration to monitoring computer systems/screens with meal and break times per organizational policy.
