Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight across our primary care practices in Northampton and Amherst, MA. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care while supporting providers, optimizing operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Medical Director will maintain an active clinical practice (70%) while dedicating administrative time (30%) to leadership responsibilities. This is an opportunity to shape clinical strategy and lead a high-performing primary care team in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical standards, quality, and patient safety initiatives
  • Mentor and evaluate providers; support performance improvement
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee risk management

Requirements

  • MD or DO with active Massachusetts license or willing to Obtain
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
  • 2-5 years outpatient primary care experience
  • Proven clinical leadership and strong communication skills
  • Prior Medical Director/Lead Physician experience
  • Experience with population health, payer programs, or practice transformation
  • Training in leadership, quality improvement, or informatics
