What does a health content writer do?

A Health Content Writer is responsible for creating informative and engaging written materials about health, wellness, medicine, and related topics. They research complex medical information and translate it into clear, accessible language for the general public or specific audiences. Their work may include writing articles, blog posts, website content, patient education materials, or marketing copy for healthcare organizations. Health Content Writers must ensure their content is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry regulations. They often collaborate with medical professionals to verify information and maintain credibility.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a health content writer, and why are they important?

Job description

Corteva Agriscience is seeking to hire a Digital Content Specialist to write compelling content across a range of digital channels. In this role, you will combine creative writing skills with a working knowledge of search optimization to develop content that engages, converts, and retains prospects and customers across our US Crop Protection and pest management businesses, including brands such as Sentricon. You will write for multiple brand voices and audience segments, partnering closely with our Content Strategist and search team to ensure every piece of content serves both the audience and our digital performance goals.
What You'll Do:
  • Ideate, research, and write relevant content targeted to retailers, licensees, sales representatives, and growers across various stages of the customer journey.
  • Write for multiple brand voices across our crop protection and pest management portfolio, adapting tone and messaging to distinct audience segments.
  • Write for a variety of digital channels, including websites, articles, email, social media, paid media ad copy, video scripts, and landing pages.
  • Partner with the SEO/search strategy team to write content optimized for traditional search, AI-generated answers, and emerging discovery channels - contributing meaningfully to execution, not just receiving direction.
  • Collaborate with the Content Strategist to develop and manage content calendars, ensuring alignment with campaign priorities and business goals.
  • Repurpose long-form content across multiple formats and channels to maximize reach and content efficiency.
  • Identify and manage influencer and subject matter expert relationships to support content creation; conduct interviews to inform content.
  • Manage content production, including identifying graphics and imagery, seeking stakeholder approvals, and collaborating with web and email teams on deployments and quality assurance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance content with infographics and collaborate with the digital graphic designer to develop them.
  • Support product marketing and prospecting campaign content while aligning with brand voice and strategy.
  • Proofread, edit, and optimize content for brand voice, effectiveness, accuracy, and search performance.
  • Leverage AI-assisted writing and content tools to accelerate content production while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, and editorial quality.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to analyze content performance, draw insights from KPIs, and recommend strategy adjustments.

What Skills You Need:
  • 3+ years of experience writing and editing digital content, preferably in the agriculture, crop protection, or B2B marketing space.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex concepts engaging, conversational, and easy to understand.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) principles; ability to write content that performs in both traditional search and AI-generated answer environments.
  • Excellent grammatical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn and consistently apply writing style, brand voice, trademark, and legal guidelines.
  • Strong time management and project management skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted writing and content tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper, or similar) and the ability to use them responsibly within a brand context.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience working in an enterprise content management or marketing workflow platform (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely, Bynder, or similar) preferred.
  • Effective collaborator, both internally and with external agencies and vendors.
