Job description

Full-time health coaches are dedicated to creating a culture of health within the workplace. These trusted, worksite-located resources serve employees interested in face-to-face coaching as well as group coaching sessions. The services provided by these health coaches helps to increase active participation in client-provided health and/or disease management programs. Health coaches help employees understand their health status, inform employees of potential risks, and teach them how to achieve and maintain personal health goals.

The coach's primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Focusing on individual and group coaching
  • Coaching which combines current behavior change theories and methodologies to guide support, and empower participants through the various stages of change and after goal completion
  • Delivering one-on-one coaching on topics including nutrition, physical activity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol
  • Developing and delivering group wellness seminars on relevant health topics as well as through multisession courses, delivered interactively and aligned to the annual wellness plan focused on the monthly wellness themes
  • Providing general wellness education and referral for prevention, family health issues, sleep, stress, and weight
  • Providing education about internal and external phone-based health management programs, including disease management and EAPs, as well as referrals to these programs

What we expect from you:

  • Strong Clinical skills with at least 3 or more years of experience health coaching, health education and health promotion
  • Current ACLS/BLS/CPR/AED Certification
  • High energy level, with dynamic presentation skills is required.
  • Positive role model in demonstrating healthy behaviors
  • Passion for health improvement
  • Ability to work independently
  • Customer-centric focus
  • Ability to proactively collaborate professionally with the client and other matrix partners.
  • Understand and own a variety of clinical targets and outcome measurements. Develop action plans that drive clinical value for the customers and clients.
  • Proven administrative abilities, with strong computer and software application skills.

  • BSN/RN
  • CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist)
  • Motivational interviewing training/experience.
  • Smoking cessation and diabetes experience.
