Job description

Hunton Services, a division of Hunton Group in Houston, TX, is seeking a motivated and solutions-oriented Project Manager for our Special Projects division. This individual will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle for HVAC, Mechanical, and Building Systems projects within healthcare facilities, including hospitals, medical office buildings, research labs, and other patient care environments. Selected individuals will have direct responsibility for the administration, implementation, and management of projects while being accountable for the assigned projects' scope of work, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of various field concepts, practices, and procedures related to HVAC Mechanical systems and healthcare indoor air quality applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle for HVAC and building systems upgrades, retrofits, and installations in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinate internal teams, healthcare facility staff, and third-party contractors to ensure effective collaboration and compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and minimal disruption to hospital operations.
  • Conduct project forecasting, cost management, and risk analysis to identify challenges in schedule, budget, or scope proactively.
  • Manage resource availability and allocation, coordinating with facility management and clinical operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress and resolving delays promptly.
  • Oversee and document all changes in scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring alignment with client and compliance standards.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with healthcare clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage project risks with a focus on infection control, patient safety, and healthcare compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, ASHRAE, CDC guidelines).
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with vendors and subcontractors specializing in healthcare mechanical systems.
  • Prepare project close-out documentation to include warranty letters and operations and maintenance manuals (O&Ms).
  • Utilize project management tools and software to track progress, document requirements, and report to stakeholders.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration with field personnel and hospital facilities teams.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent client-facing, internal communication skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Projects, and MS Excel.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Proven experience working in healthcare facilities with a focus on improving patient care delivery and clinical outcomes.
  • Background in healthcare operations and infrastructure projects impacting patient safety and care quality.
