Job description

Are you passionate about safety? Do you enjoy a challenge and like working in a fast-paced environment? Do you get excited about building relationships and making a difference in your community?
If you've answered "YES" to the above, the Environmental Health and Safety Client Advisor role at U.S. Compliance is for you!
Our EHS Client Advisors work closely with industrial facilities across North America to provide technical and regulatory support with health & safety (OSHA) and environmental compliance.
As the primary point of contact for a client, advisors complete facility inspections and site assessments, develop site-specific safety programs, conduct employee safety and environmental training, and lead safety committee meetings.
About the role
Environmental Health & Safety Advisors at U.S. Compliance focus on four pillars:
  1. Employee training
  2. Program and procedure development
  3. Safety committee meetings
  4. Facility walkthrough inspections.

We're looking for someone with a bachelor's degree, with preference for candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience in occupational safety in a manufacturing environment.
Candidates should also have experience in the development and implementation of safety programs, as well as working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and other OSHA/safety regulations, including state or regional-specific requirements. Although not required, candidates with bilingual Spanish skills are highly valued.
People who excel in this role have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an aptitude for sound decision-making, and the ability to assert good judgment.
Our one-of-a-kind Compliance as a Service (CaaS) model allows us to build lasting relationships with our clients and become an extension of their team. We integrate into our client organizations and work with their team to foster a positive culture around environmental, health, and safety.
If you enjoy travel, this role is especially for you, as our advisors service clients both locally (commuting) and out-of-region (traveling), with an average number of overnight stays around 6-8 per month. Our excellent corporate team will assist in scheduling employees to earn and keep travel rewards, and our team members earn daily food and beverage per diem and are reimbursed for business mileage.
About the company
At U.S. Compliance, we care about three things: helping people, protecting the environment, and growing our clients' business.
U.S. Compliance is the industry leader in environmental health and safety compliance management and consulting solutions, delivering OSHA/safety and environmental compliance expertise for industrial companies. We utilize a unique business model of Compliance as a Service (CaaS) - and we're the only firm built to deliver it. We've partnered with manufacturers for over 30 years, customizing our services to help them attain and sustain environmental health and safety compliance, acting as extensions of their existing team and resources.
What a typical month looks like
While one of the draws of the Environmental Health and Safety Advisor role is the variety and mobility it brings, there are certain functions of the job you can expect routinely:
  • Provide on-site visits to assigned clients
  • Perform compliance audits, periodic training, and routine facility inspections to identify areas of concern
  • Prepare agendas and follow-up reports to client contacts before and after each visit
  • Develop, write, and edit OSHA-compliant programs, providing up-to-date versions to clients utilizing our EHS Gateway platform
  • Facilitate safety committee and emergency response team (ERT) meetings
  • Perform industrial hygiene surveys and conduct respective testing (air/noise)
  • Manage daily activities and tasks through the company's internal software (MS Dynamics/PSA)
  • Research additional regulations and apply them to industrial equipment and operations
  • Perform applicability assessments and data collection alongside our Environmental Division
  • Complete special projects as assigned, including lockout (LO/TO) procedure development, Job Hazard Assessment development (JHAs), and DOT/RCRA seminars

About you
Do you identify with any of the following traits? If so, the Environmental Health and Safety Advisor position might be the perfect fit for you:
  • Persuader: You're a leader and a motivator. You're extroverted and enjoy making a difference. You can rally a team around projects, confidently making decisions and delegating tasks. For you, teamwork makes the dream work.
  • Captain: Independent and strong-willed, you connect easily with teammates and clients. You're a natural leader who both inspires and challenges others to raise the bar.
  • Controller: You're self-disciplined and fast-paced, always aiming to get things right. You're straightforward, responsible, and factual. You also work hard to develop technical expertise, respect authority, and operate within established guidelines.

Become part of our dynamic team and unlock opportunities to achieve your career aspirations while helping our clients care for their employees, protect our environment, and grow their businesses.
Full-time salaried roles come with a competitive compensation package and the chance to earn incentives through our Success Sharing Program. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package encompassing health insurance, along with vision insurance, dental coverage, a Health Savings Account, a 401K retirement plan matched by the company, disability protection, life insurance, generous paid time off, holidays, volunteer time off, technology reimbursement, and a host of other perks designed to support your well-being and professional growth. Join us and be part of a team where your contributions truly count.
