Job Description
About The Role:
The Parking Valet Attendant represents the hotel at the main entrance by greeting arriving and departing guests enthusiastically. They attend to parking request in timely manner to ensure the driveway is accessible at all times. In addition, the Parking Valet Attendant assists the Bellhelp with luggage assistance when needed.
What You'll Do:
  • Assist hotel customers with parking requests, issuing claim tickets and explaining parking rates and options. Immediately taking/retrieving the vehicle to/from the parking garage. Carefully operating customers' vehicles ensuring no damage is caused to the vehicle. Operating vehicles without changing any existing settings within the vehicle such as the radio station. Maintain driveway traffic flow to allow main hotel entrance accessibility and ensuring ample space for passenger and luggage loading and unloading.
  • Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Assist Doorman in opening car doors for arriving and departing customers.
  • Respond immediately to customer inquiries regarding hotel features, services, and assistance. Provide clear and understandable information regarding parking rates and options and directions to hotel facilities and nearby attractions.
  • Assist Bellman with guest's luggage. Lifting guest's items from their vehicle and placing on baggage carts.
  • Answer the entrance telephone and provide clear, accurate information to guests and employees.
  • Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor at all times in addition to remaining calm during periods of heavy business volumes.
  • Clearly communicate guest parking procedures and applicable costs to arriving guests.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as assisting as Bellhelp.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • No prior experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean Drivers Abstract and Hawaii Driver's License
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage up to 50+ pounds.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to read and write the English language to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks, to write numbers and names on claim checks and room lists.
  • Ability to stand, walk and or/sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Perform task requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking.
  • Considerable knowledge and ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions and hotel facilities and service.
  • Considerable knowledge of city and surrounding areas.

  • Prior guest service or other hospitality experience preferred
  • Prior valet experience preferred
