Job description

STATUS: Full-time / Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager

LOCATION: Greece Branch

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

COMPENSATION: The starting hourly wage for this position is expected to be $18.00 per hour. The actual hourly wage will be determined based on experience and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

SCHEDULE*: Monday 8:30 – 4:30pm / Tuesday 8:30 – 4:30pm/ Wednesday 9:30-4:30pm / Thursday 8:30 – 5:30pm / Friday 8:30– 6:30pm / Saturday 8:30 – 1:30

*Schedule may vary based on business needs. Must be available to work 2-3 Saturdays per month, with a day off during the week.

Position Overview

The primary function of a Teller (Full Time) is to provide quality member service while processing member transactions accurately and in a timely efficient manner. Exhibit knowledge in Branch Operational Procedures and promote relationships by referring and selling financial products and services that best suit our members’ needs.

Essential Functions

  • Represent the Credit Union with a positive, courteous, enthusiastic and professional attitude towards all members, colleagues, management, board members and outside vendors.
  • Responsible for performing transactions accurately and efficiently via phone and in person.
  • Responsible for balancing daily work.
  • Answer inbound teller-line member support phones and process telephone requests.
  • Consistently make appropriate and timely suggestions/referrals of products and services to members.
  • Make quality referrals to Member Service Specialists for thorough review of features and benefits of products and services.
  • Make quality referrals to the Summit Retirement and Investment Services department.
  • Meet sales goals as determined by management using CML.
  • Adhere to credit union policies and departmental/branch procedures.
  • Update and document information learned about members in Contact Event Manager.

Other

  • Prepare workstation at the beginning of each day and ensure proper inventory of supplies throughout the day.
  • Completion of special projects as assigned by the Head Teller or management.
  • Assist Head Teller with daily close-out procedures and any other duties as requested.
  • Strictly adhere to the established security and regulatory procedures while maintaining security of the work area and member sensitive documents, ensuring that it presents a well maintained, organized and neat appearance.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: An equivalent combination of the following:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalency required.
  • Minimum six months’ cash handling experience.
  • Prior sales experience preferred.

Skills

  • Strong math and keyboarding skills required.
  • Effective communication skills, including listening skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient sales skills, with the ability to recognize opportunities that meet member needs.
  • Ability to build member relationships and promote member loyalty.

Working Environment

  • Must be able to sit and or stand for an extended period of time in a normal office environment.
  • Occasional lifting required.
  • Ability to travel to other branch locations for staffing assistance, trainings and meetings as assigned.
