Overview
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen by washing dishes, pots, and pans, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring an adequate supply of clean china, glassware, and silverware for food service operations.
Responsibilities
  • Sort soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils and load them properly into the dish or pot washing machines.
  • Wash all kitchenware promptly and return items to designated storage areas.
  • Maintain the dish machine by keeping it clean and filled with water according to hotel standards.
  • Polish and de-tarnish silverware to maintain proper appearance.
  • Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots, and pans quickly to support kitchen operations.
  • Transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware for cooks, banquet servers, and food servers.
  • Run glassware through the dish machine and inspect for cleanliness.
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand when necessary.
  • Scrape food waste from dishes before washing or placing them in the dishwashing machine.
  • Sweep and mop floors and clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen surfaces.
  • Remove trash and garbage and dispose of it in designated containers.
  • Clean garbage cans and operate the cardboard bailing machine as needed.
  • Put away and rotate stock as required.
  • Store all clean utensils and supplies in designated areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications
  • Physical strength and stamina required due to the high activity level of the position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the stewarding team.
  • Knowledge of and ability to followOSHA regulations.
  • Minimum2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Current Food Handler Certification required.
  • Strong ability to multitask and stay organized.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to stand for8+ hours per shift.
  • Must meet grooming standards and maintain personal hygiene.
  • Must be available to workweekends and holidays.
