Position Summary


Fusion is seeking a Controls Technician to join our Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Electronic Security Systems (ESS) team. The Controls Technician will provide onsite technical support for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and modification of mission-critical electronic security and control systems.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience with at least one of the following systems: Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Access Control Systems (ACS), Public Address (PA) Systems and/or Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV). Experience with multiple ESS technologies is highly desirable.

Working under the direction of senior engineers and technical leads, the Controls Technician will assist with the installation, configuration, programming, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and lifecycle support of device-level and head-end electronic security systems.


The technician will work with a variety of electronic security equipment, including access control panels, card readers, door hardware, intrusion detection devices, cameras, video management systems, sensors, communication equipment, controllers, power supplies, and associated network infrastructure. The position requires electrical installation and strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with engineers, technicians, IT personnel, vendors, facilities personnel, and government stakeholders.


Security Clearance Requirement

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is required


Key Responsibilities:


O&M Support

  • Provide onsite technical support for existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS), including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, CCTV, and related systems
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of ESS equipment and associated infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, wiring, communications, power, configuration, and device-level issues
  • Respond to operator and customer trouble tickets and assist with troubleshooting and resolution of system issues
  • Perform system health checks and identify failed, degraded, or improperly functioning devices and components
  • Replace, repair, configure, and test defective equipment and components
  • Assist with maintaining system availability, reliability, and operational readiness across multiple facilities
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment failures, corrective actions, and system modifications


Installation & System Implementation

  • Assist with the installation, termination, configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of new ESS equipment and systems
  • Install and maintain device-level equipment including:
    • Access control panels and controllers
    • Card readers and credential devices
    • Door position switches
    • Request-to-exit devices
    • Electric locks and door hardware interfaces
    • Intrusion detection sensors
    • Public Address (PA) devices
    • CCTV cameras
    • Video encoders and related equipment
  • Assist with installation and integration of head-end ESS equipment, servers, workstations, software, and operator interfaces
  • Perform equipment configuration and point-to-point testing
  • Verify device communications and proper operation following installation or modification
  • Assist with system upgrades, expansions, equipment replacements, and lifecycle modernization projects
  • Support system commissioning and acceptance testing

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
    • Industrial Control Systems (ICS)

    • CCTV / Video Surveillance Systems
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or configuring electronic security or industrial control equipment
  • Working knowledge of electronic devices, electrical circuits, control circuits, sensors, panels, power supplies, and field equipment
  • Ability to use basic electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
