What does a head of partnerships do?

A Head of Partnerships is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic relationships with other organizations to help drive business growth and achieve company objectives. This role involves negotiating agreements, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring partnerships deliver value for both parties. The Head of Partnerships also analyzes market trends to find new opportunities and maintains strong relationships with key partners. Their work is essential in expanding the company's reach, accessing new markets, and fostering innovation through collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a head of partnerships?

To thrive as a Head of Partnerships, you need strong business development expertise, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in building and managing cross-industry alliances, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms, contract management tools, and data analytics systems is typically required. Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills set top candidates apart in this role. These capabilities are crucial for identifying valuable partnership opportunities, driving growth, and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders.

What are some common challenges faced by a head of partnerships, and how can they be addressed?

A Head of Partnerships often faces the challenge of aligning partner objectives with the company's strategic goals, which can require extensive negotiation and relationship management. Navigating complex stakeholder interests and ensuring clear communication between internal teams and external partners can also be demanding. To address these challenges, it's important to establish transparent processes, set measurable partnership goals, and foster open dialogue across all parties. Building trust and demonstrating value to both sides are key for long-term success in this role.

Job description

The future of retail is being shaped in stores. The strongest brands turn digital intent into qualified in-store traffic, deliver a personalized and differentiated customer experience, and measure its impact on revenue precisely.

Booxi is the platform that lets them run these experiences, measure their revenue impact, and predict what they will generate. More than 8,500 locations already use us, including Dior, Hermès, Sephora and L'Oréal.

We operate in 103 countries from Montreal and Paris. In 2026, we're continuing our European expansion while launching our push into the US market, where we've already confirmed strong early wins.

To get there, we're looking for a Head of Partnerships who will turn Booxi's partner network into a growth engine: integrations that make the product stronger, trusted advisors who bring complex deals our way, and market players with whom we share what we're seeing in the field. You'll also make sure the entire company, from Product to Customer Success, knows how to use that network.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND AT BOOXI
  • A function to build and shape: the foundations are in place (a strong ecosystem in Europe), the next chapter is yours to build, and you decide where to start
  • A global playing field: North America and Europe, with the United States as this year's top priority
  • Direct access to decision-makers: you'll work every day with the leaders of Sales, Product, Marketing and Customer Success
  • Globally recognized retail brands as customers: Dior, Hermès, Sephora, L'Oréal
  • A people-first culture built on flexibility, trust and autonomy
  • Genuine attention to your work-life balance
WHAT YOU'LL DO AS HEAD OF PARTNERSHIPS
  • You shape the Partnerships function at Booxi: you set the standards, document the learnings, and build the foundation that lets the function scale with the company
  • You build relationships with integrators and agencies that advise major retailers, so Booxi is recommended early in their projects
  • You negotiate agreements from end to end, from revenue sharing to each party's commitments
  • You equip Sales and Customer Success to use the partner network every day, both on active deals and with existing customers
  • You define with Marketing what we build and the story we tell with our partners
  • You advocate for integration priorities with Product and build the business case behind them
  • You measure what the network generates in pipeline and revenue, and make it visible across the company
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • You genuinely care (Just Care): you treat the Sales team and customers as true partners, and the quality of your work is how you show respect for the people carrying it into the field
  • You take ownership (No Passengers): you own your scope from end to end without needing reminders, find a way forward when the path isn't clear, flag blockers early, and stay with the problem when it gets hard
  • You're a team player (Succeed as One): you align early with other departments, share information before being asked, contribute actively to cross-team challenges, and know the collective result is what matters
  • You're curious to the core: you ask questions before executing, challenge the status quo when needed, and stay curious about new tools, including AI, other teams, and our industry
  • You choose Booxi: our mission, our market, and what it means to build in a scale-up
YOUR PROFILE
  • 5+ years in partnerships, alliances, business development or strategic account management, in a complex sales environment where every relationship is built one conversation at a time
  • You've led real commercial negotiations and can walk us through the numbers, including what you conceded and why
  • You can move Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success forward through the strength of your case
  • You've already built a function or practice where there was no playbook, using the resources already in place
  • You learn a new industry quickly: within weeks, you know who matters in the market and where the opportunities are
  • You're fully bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
  • You're prepared to travel a few days each month to meet partners across North America and Europe
  • (Nice to have) You know retail, commerce or luxury, and the tools that run a store today: POS, clienteling, loyalty and payments
  • (Nice to have) You can work from our Montreal office every week
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Generous vacation policy (min. 4 weeks per year)
  • Full company closure from December 25 to January 1
  • 2 personal days + unlimited sick days
  • Group insurance
  • $300 home-office allowance
  • Flexible schedule and remote work
