We are seeking a Head of Trading Cards - eBay Live to lead and scale one of eBay's most established, strategically important, and competitive categories in live commerce: Trading Cards. This role is responsible for defining and executing the category strategy for Trading Cards on eBay Live, accelerating growth across supply, demand, content, trust, and product innovation.
This is a highly visible, GM-style leadership role with end-to-end accountability across supply, demand, content, trust, and product innovation.

What you will accomplish:
Own Category P&L & Business Outcomes
  • Deliver ambitious GMV and revenue targets for Trading Cards on eBay Live.
  • Act as General Manager for your categories, with accountability for both topline and bottom-line performance
  • Own budget management, including seller incentives, marketing, and programming investments to maximize ROI

Define & Execute Category Strategy
  • Establish eBay Live's right-to-win within each category, informed by market dynamics, seller economics, and buyer behavior
  • Determine what to prioritize, when, why, and how across supply growth, demand generation, content, trust, and product capabilities
  • Translate strategy into clear roadmaps and execution plans across teams

Drive Supply Growth & Seller Success
  • Define assortment strategy, including target buyer segments and inventory profiles
  • Set clear criteria for seller selection and onboarding using analytics, pattern recognition, and merchant intuition
  • Partner with Business Development to recruit, onboard, and scale high-potential sellers
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements and incentive structures with sellers and vendors

Build Compelling Live Commerce Experiences
  • Lead the creation of entertaining, high-conversion live content tailored to different shopping and entertainment "modes"
  • Develop and continuously refine run-of-show playbooks that push the boundaries of live shopping
  • Ensure eBay Live stands apart in Trading Cards through trusted sellers, strong inventory, differentiated programming, and a buyer experience rooted in confidence and fun.

Lead at Scale, Cross-Functionally
  • Lead a diverse cross-functional group including Business Development, onboarding, account management, programming, operations, and product partners
  • Influence senior stakeholders across eBay to align resources, remove blockers, and deliver category outcomes.
  • Drive execution with the rigor of an operator and the adaptability of a startup founder
  • Build, hire, coach, and retain a high-performing direct team (5-10), including entrepreneurial category managers as new verticals are launched
  • Evolve team structure, operating rhythms, and category processes as Trading Cards scales on eBay Live

What You'll Bring
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent; MBA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant ecommerce, marketplace, or retail experience, including direct work with sellers and/or brands
  • Experience in Trading Cards, collectibles, sports memorabilia, hobby retail, or enthusiast commerce strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience owning or influencing P&L, GMV, or revenue targets
  • Strong interest in, or experience with, live selling, video commerce, or creator-led marketplaces
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing teams with entrepreneurial DNA
  • Ability to operate in a highly competitive category where trust, selection, speed, and experience quality matter.
  • Exceptional strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to identify patterns, set direction, and iterate quickly
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and build trusted seller relationships
  • Willingness to travel up to ~15% for seller meetings, industry events, and team offsites

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$126,800 - $204,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
